Learn to Live In The NOW and Enjoy Every Moment

We all know we should learn to live in the NOW and enjoy every moment, but sometimes it is easier said than done.

In some cases it can take an earth shattering event to make us realize exactly how tentative life is and how quickly it goes.

We all have worries and things that can knock our life off track but some people definitely handle things better than others and let go of issues like water off a ducks back.

The people who know how to live in the now and enjoy every moment have a different mindset by nature. (how lucky they are!) For the rest of us it takes work; and even then we have a habit of falling back into our own natural pattern.

After 40 years of being who I was, worrying about things that I had no control over, I finally got to the point where I knew that I had to make some significant life changes.

My marriage fell apart and with that came the decision to sell my shares in a business I loved; I have to admit however that the silver lining to this cloud was that at least, for then, I could stay home and raise my family. (Every cloud really does have a silver lining!!)

I still had to make some changes. I wanted to be a terrific parent, but knew if I allowed myself to continue dwelling on issues, particularly the ones I couldn't change, these inner thoughts were detracting from my job at hand which was raising my children & living in the now... as well as allowing myself to enjoy every moment with my kids.

The past is something none of us can change. The present is here and we can tweak that, the future is something we can all start to lay a terrific foundation in order to make it FANTASTIC!

I wanted to be the best I could be at home. I didn't want to face the prospects of running out of financial stability for the future. So I took this advice I've just shared and made probably one of the best decisions of my life.

Here's what I did:

1) I started by realizing that nobody but me could make changes.

2) Set goals, envisioned and documented my 'ideal' situation.

3) Realized that we ALL have the SAME chances of success, regardless of our goals.

4) Indulged in Personal Development materials including The Online Self Improvement and Self Help Encyclopedia (an excellent personal development resource).

5) Explored the many options of working on the internet.

After much due diligence, I chose a business in the Personal Development genre, that was not only healthy and safe, it is risk free.

6) Focused all of my energies on positives such as my business, my family and living in the moment.

7) Through my journey of personal development, I chose to ignore stress. (not easy... and needs constant work)
